As the end of Year 13 dawns, it is time for the final school trip for this year’s leavers. After some last minute adjustments, everything was set for a good day out. Tea and coffee on arrival set the group up for some team-building activities and after splitting into 2 teams we head out to the two areas. Team 1start with the problem solving using planks and ropes; much hilarity was created especially with the Jenga task. Blindfolded knot tying and number recognition manage to test all areas of our abilities. Team 2 headed for the low ropes complete with Giant’s Causeway, tyre swings and no hands climbing. Considerable enthusiasm was shown in this section particularly for the wall climbing! The teams then swap over to attempt the other activities and demonstrate the full extent of their skills. All too soon the activities were over and a decision had to be made on the winning team. Very little separated the groups in terms of team-working, but a four second margin gave Team 2 the upper hand. Our next task, again involving considerable team effort, was to arrive at the barbecue area –no mean feat but after a short tour of rural Perthshire, we arrived at Little Glenshee to be met by an a amazing array of food and drink.
Many thanks to Debi Cowley for driving to the various locations and to the catering team of Beth and Ted Smerdon, Daniel Wilkin, Trudy Thomas and Adele White for their sterling efforts. Also a big thank you to Mrs McKeown and Mrs Thornton for their support.
